Hear from Our Staff
“I started at Acorn as a Business & Administration Apprentice when I finished college. I started working on reception which gave me a huge insight into the legal services that Acorn Solicitors offer. I found learning on the job was a great way to gain valuable experience and knowledge. I then progressed by assisting various fee earners including the partner of the firm enabling me to experience working in the different departments including the management of the office. Throughout my time working at Acorn I have always been encouraged to undertake various qualifications whether it be in marketing or office management. Acorn Solicitors strive to develop and upskill their staff and I have really felt the benefits of this. After several years experiencing different areas of law in the firm, I realised that conveyancing is what I really enjoyed the most and I am now undertaking a Level 6 Licensed Conveyancing Qualification.”

“I started at Acorn as an Apprentice Paralegal in 2020 working in the conveyancing department in both the Taunton and Street office. The Apprenticeship was a great way to begin my legal career and has allowed me to gain valuable work experience whilst studying completing my studies with CILEx. I qualified as a Paralegal in May 2023 and have since been working in the Street office assisting with both residential and agricultural conveyancing transactions. After gaining further knowledge and experience working in the Conveyance department for the last 11 months, I was encouraged by the firm to continue my studies and I am now undertaking the Level 7 Solicitor Apprenticeship.”

“I started at Acorn as a Paralegal Apprentice in 2020. Entering the world of law with no previous legal experience (as well as during a pandemic!) was a daunting career change. However, all the team at Acorn were so welcoming and helped me feel comfortable and confident in navigating my new role. David and Jill are very genuine and supportive managers and encourage every opportunity to learn new skills and develop careers. It was due to their encouragement that I began the Solicitor Apprenticeship following my successful qualification as a Paralegal. The work at Acorn is varied, interesting and personal and my role allows me to assist the people of Somerset whilst also building a valuable career”.
